All Roads Lead to Sway
We took the turning into Sway
We took the turning into Sway
Unknown to us.
We ambled gently into
A beautiful wild world
That had been sleeping;
Waiting for our arrival.
As I saw this wondrous place
I thought of you
And how you would have loved
Its beauty too…
Another sign post;
‘Sway’, it said.
And so we followed the sign
And took another road;
A disappointing cul-de-sac,
With houses not old;
Not new.
I thought of you…
How you would have laughed
At its glumness too…
“All roads lead to Sway”,
My companion said.
Do they?
I thought
And then I realised
I was thinking of you.
My friend was wrong
All roads
Don’t lead to Sway,
They lead to you.
