Better Place

I drown in my shame,

Standing out in the pouring rain.

With each drop that hits my face,

I become lost in all time and space.

The only thing I think of is you,

And all the things that we've been through.

I can't believe it ended like this,

I feel as if I no longer exist.

I walk around as if lost within a dream,

And no matter how real it seems,

Things are never the same,

Everything has completely changed.

I close my eyes,

Turn my face up to the sky,

And yell why me?

Oh God please.

Take me away,

Take me to a better place.

A place where I am not alone,

A place where I do not feel so cold.

And then I hear a beautiful noise,

The sound of your voice.

You tell me that you're sorry for letting me go,

And you just had to let me know,

That no other person can take my place,

And I'm the only one you want to be with everyday.

You hold me there in the pouring rain,

Washing away all my pain...
