DISTRUST
Distrust is the silent fear that rules the thoughts within;
That turns our head away in chagrin;
It’s the map that guides us in our wake;
We convince ourselves it is for protection’s sake;
The heart is willing to offer an olive branch;
While the mind is tethered in the fear it makes.
All hope is withheld from hearts venture;
All confidence is lost within censor;
Distrust keeps us from attaining our goals;
We want so badly, yet we won’t let go;
The darkness creeps in and holds us at bay;
We cannot move forward or go against the fray;
It eats at us from the inside - out;
It will destroy a life, of this there is no doubt.
