Into the darkness..
With a bucket of fishes in one hand,
he turned his head for a thousandth time
to the vast sea touching the horizon
but could only feel serenity sublime.
Dropping his shoulders in despair,
he crept into his cave up high,
rested his head against the plush
when the zephyr sang him a lullaby.
Hours passed by and the moon came out
he was still mumbling like a git.
Then he eventually woke up with his head spinning
and saw his cave so brightly lit.
The place echoed with falsetto
when he saw freedom in the heart of the sea.
Then he knelt down and put his hands together
‘O King of kings, I thank thee’.
Frolic turned into laughter and then into a mere smile;
his eyes did not even for once wink
gazing at the sea he entered dilemma
and for the first time he began to think.
‘Thou hast given me troubles enough;
my family no more can i see
but when I weighteth the two in different pans;
both appearth the same to me’.
‘I lost a lot but gained more:
more than earlier ones put together.
To thee, O pitiful, I owe everything
for thou art both my teacher and mother’.
‘I play, I weep, I laugh and eat
in the process I never feel shy
nobody to whom I owe an explanation,
master of my own will am I’.
‘It’s easy leading a life of comforts
whilst here each day I pare
I pity those adding to the monotony
for such life is led by rare’.
‘Therefore I will not take a step forward,
into my dark pram will I creep
to meet the angels above unlike them
I should go back to sleep’.
