Mother
Sitting in the corner of a room
Mentally exhausted by the troubles of the day]
A gentle kiss on the cheek, as if sent by god
And all the negativity fades away.
You look around but you are not surprised
To see an angel like figure standing aside
In front of whom your tears beg to flow
And no sorrow within you likes to hide.
She can easily sense the ache in your heart
Even though all your tears have dried
With a little cuddle and a ruffle of your hair
Oh! She is a panacea personified
She listens to your afflictions both said and unsaid
And makes sure you are gloomy no more
Then she plays, sings and dances with you
And there comes happiness galore.
Sometimes you get offended by her
Shout, stomp and throw it in her face
Then u aggravate the situation by moving away
When she wants to hold you and embrace
You bang the door and go out of the room
In a serene place somewhere you lie
And ponder over what you have done
Until a tear trickles down your eye.
Eventually you return and hope to carry on
With the way you were so far living
Again she hugs you and kisses you gently
Isn˘t she ever forgiving?
Then comes a day when you find her sitting alone
In one corner for a time so long
That the first thing that you think of
Is that something must be wrong
You patiently sit and try to do a mother
As you can hear her heart whine
But she shakes her head as if to say
ˇEverything is perfectly fine˘.
After several rotations of the hourglass,
Things become normal again
It also ushers happiness plenty
And both of you forget her pain.
No matter what one may be,
One always feels the need of a touch maternal
To help him tread various paths in life,
How I wish a mother was eternal.
