I could say I’m apologetic, self-condemnatory or repentant

I could say I’m attritional, self-reproachful or regretful

I could but I never do,

I say I will but always don’t,

You wish I would

Just as I know I should but wont

Sorry that my apologies are not crisper

Sorry that they don’t hit like a haymaker in boxing bout

Sorry that my rivers of regret are not wet but just a little damp

Sorry that my words don’t cut through you like King Arthur’s sword
