The Charm of Innocence
She was pretty and seemed full of innocence,
Sometimes so firm while sometimes unaware of her own existence
Not much about her would you find sparkling,
Yet she had it all, that one could call charming
She didn't speak much, yet she said it all
Not the steadiest of walker, yet never ready to fall
She kept believing there was nothing she could not face
And there was not one dream that she wouldn't want to chase
Yet I hoped she was a bit more circumspect,
Cause the world outside was evil and could mean threat
But she was confident and she thought she knew it all,
So much so, that I thought it was probably just not my call
Life sometimes is more than just life
And as things moved on, my world seemed full of strife
It was time that things were thought upon
As the wise man rightly said "You can't let things just go on"
So I wished her luck as I bid good-bye
And I prayed she always had only good people nearby
