The Light That Shines
You sparkle with such radiance that shines
Above all the rest
You're the only star in sight
On a clear crisp summer night
And your only companion is the moon
The moon knows it cannot stand beside you
But enjoys knowing you're there
And takes comfort in your presence
The moon is happy to be part of your light show
And can now ignite the night sky with passion burning
Flames that will bring new meaning to the light of day
The morning sun rises with all its glory
And the moon waits in silence for it to set
In hopes of rejoining with you to light up the sky once again
On the nights you do not show
The moon feels alone and scared
On those nights the moon loses the strength
To shine bright
On those nights the moon misses you
When your light returns
The moon is happy to see you
You both ignite the sky once again and dance the night away
Until the sun decides to break up your fun
The moon longs to be closer to you
But will wait for you to One Day initiate a connection
The moon knows that One Day
Is still very far away
So to get by it will pray
But One Day may never come
So I will wait forever
With the light from the sun
