You are Perfect

To me you are perfect in every way

Every word you say, every word you whisper, I listen, mesmerised by your voice,

Hanging onto every single spoken word, like the last I will ever hear,

Knowing that when my time comes, yours was a voice of an angel.

And your beauty is like a flower; petals delicate and perfectly formed,

And like a bee, I am drawn to the beauty that unfolds on the break of every dawn,

Intoxicated by the scent of nectar, and drawn to the light, beyond more than the human eye can see.

Inside, your soul burns with intense brightness and warmth,

Radiating, spreading, bringing happiness and joy,

Making every day, as colourful as spring, as warm as summer.

Even on darkest of days.

For I see you not who you are now; but who you will be and it is that person you will become, I am drawn to.

For I know that in days to come you will bring love and happiness to all you touch.

But we are like two people on ships passing in the night, gliding quietly through the moonlit seas, passing, destinies taking the same path, but never to meet.

And there I see you on the horizon, on deck, hair flowing in the gentle breeze, looking to the heavens, into jewel encrusted sky as the bow cuts through the waters,

And below, white stallions, gallop, racing the length of the ship, manes flowing behind, until they pass and disappear into the deep ocean blue.

I smile, knowing then that you are the one, but will never be, for you are the missing piece of the puzzle never to be found.

And as each second passes, you sail further away until the lights fade into darkness.

And I know for that brief moment, you were mine and my love was complete.
